Justice KC Bhanu of the High Court on Wednesday asked the state government to respond to the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant Employees' Union's petition complaining of indecision on allocating captive iron-ore mines to the steel plant. The judge adjourned the matter for next hearing after two weeks.
The employees' union complained that non-allocation of captive mines to the plant affected steel production and wanted the court to direct the principal secretary (industries & commerce) and managing director to AP SMDC to allot Obulapuram or Bayyaram to the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
