Bail scam: Sriramulu may appear before ACB today

Mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy’s close aide, B Sriramulu, is all likely to turn up before officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau here on Tuesday to be quizzed in the bail-forcash scam.

 The ACB had sent notice to him four days ago, asking him to appear before it on August 21.

 The Bellary MLA, after consulting his legal advisers, is learnt to have decided to appear before the agency which wants to question him on the source of money that was given as bribe to the mediators who induced suspended judge T Pattabhirama Rao to grant bail to Janardhan Reddy.

 The ACB suspects that the Rs 9.

50 crore paid to various people after Janardhan Reddy had been arranged by Sriramulu.

 Sriramulu’s role came to light during the questioning of another Karnataka legislator, T H Suresh Babu from Kampli, who happens to be the nephew of the Bellary MLA.

 Sriramulu’s name also cropped up during the interrogation of Raavi Suryaprakash Rao, a realtor.

 Rao confessed that he had met Sriramulu through Suresh Babu to discuss the deal.

 Sriramulu had met Janardhan Reddy at the Chanchalguda prison.

 The ACB has arrested two Karnataka MLAs, Gali Somasekhara Reddy and TH Suresh Babu, so far.

 Both were arrested after summoning them to the city. "We will decide on arresting Sriramulu after quizzing him,’’ an ACB official said.
