Two more Congress MLAs set to join Jagan’s party

Two more young legislators from the ruling Congress, Gottipati Ravi Kumar (Addanki) and Buchepally Sivaparasada Reddy (Darsi) from Prakasam district, are all set to join YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s party.

It is learnt that one of them might join the YSRC in a week and the other either on January 15 or 16.

It is no secret that both Ravi Kumar and Sivaprasada Reddy have been rubbing their shoulders with the leaders of the YSRC for the past few days. Close relatives of these MLAs are already working in the YSRC.

When contacted, the Addanki MLA said, “It is true that several people of my constituency are exerting pressure on me to join the YSRC. I am still thinking about it.” But his aides say that he would join Jagan’s camp sooner than later.

The chief minister has recently called Ravi Kumar to Hyderabad and tried to persuade him to abandon his plans to join the YSRC. But Ravi Kumar seems to have made up his mind.

Following its impressive performance in the recent bypolls to 18 Assembly segments, the fledgeling YSRC is slowly attracting MLAs from the Congress and the TDP to its fold.

Congress MLAs Maddala Rajesh Kumar (Chintalapudi), Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas alias Nani (Eluru) and S Venkata Krishna Ranga Rao (Bobbili) have shifted their loyalties to the YSRC apart from five TD MLAs.
