HYDERABAD: The state government issued orders on Thursday for conducting enumeration of backward class voters in all the urban local bodies from February 6 as per the latest voter lists published recently for the purpose of reservation of seats for BCs in the forthcoming elections to municipal corporations and councils. The decision on survey of BC voters was taken at a recent meeting in the wake of an additional counter affidavit filed in the High Court. The schedule February 28: Supply of a copy of electoral rolls to political parties registered with State Election Commission Feb 29 to March 3: Filing of claims and objections.

March 4 to 6: Sorting of claims & objections; appointment and training of verification officers March 7 to 9: Field verification of claims and objections by verification officer March 10, 11: Marking of BC voters in the rolls March 12: Publication of final rolls with ward-wise BC voters March 13, 14: Submission of final BC voters’ list to the director of municipal administration. March 15 to 20: Draft preparation for reservation of seats by DMA March 21 to 26: Issuance of orders on reservation of seats for BCs in municipal polls
