CM's Uncle Elected Bar Council Member

HYDERABAD: N Dwarakanatha Reddy, a senior advocate in Chittoor and uncle of chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, was declared elected as member of the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh on Monday.

HYDERABAD: N Dwarakanatha Reddy, a senior advocate in Chittoor and uncle of chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, was declared elected as member of the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh on Monday.

A Narasimha Reddy, citybased senior advocate and current Bar Council chairman, was also declared elected as member. Both of them have crossed the cutoff figure by securing 1,479 votes.

K Chidambaram of Hyderabad was in the third place with 1,478 votes, followed by B Venkata Ramana Murthy (Visakhapatnam) with 1,306, KVN Thammanna Setty (Vizianagaram) with 1,206 and N Ramchander Rao (Hyderabad) with 1,204 votes.

Counting of votes began at the council's office on the High Court premises on January 19. The final results will be announced on February 10 after completion of counting of votes.

In all, 134 candidates contested the polls held on December 30 and 25 members will be elected. The newlyelected 25 members will then elect a chairman and vicechairman to the Bar Council of AP and one member to Bar Council of India.
