KURNOOL: Four students were seriously injured when the roof of their class caved in at the Pattikonda Menro Government Primary School Friday. The injured were first shifted to Pattikonda hospital and later to the government hospital here.

The students, Hari (first standard), Sravani,Vamsi and Mahesh (all second standard) were trapped when the roof collapsed, while other children ran to safety.

District collector Ramshankar Naik has ordered an inquiry into the incident and said the children will be given the best treatment.

Villagers blamed the poor quality of construction for the incident.
