HYDERABAD: Srilakshmi's counsel filed a petition in the special CBI court on Friday, seeking special class cell for her in the prison.
The petition said Y Srilakshmi, senior IAS officer, came from an uppermiddle class family and did postgraduation. She appeared for the UPSC civil services examination and was selected to the Indian Administrative Service. Her father is a retired railway chief engineer and her husband, M Gopi Krishna, is a senior IPS officer holding the rank of inspectorgeneral of police in the Crime Investigation Department (CID). Considering her social status, the counsel pleaded, the court may grant special room for Srilakshmi under 730 of AP Prison Rules, 1894 Act.
The magistrate posted hearing on the petition for January 12.
