A ragpicker was brutally raped and murdered by unidentified persons here on Sunday. The woman’s body with assault marks was found near Kondayapalem railway gate.
Police said preliminary investigation reports said the woman around 35 years of age had come from Tamil Nadu a month back. She used to pick up wastepaper and other material and sell them to a trader on the mini-bypass road near the railway gate. Details of the woman are to be ascertained.
Police suspect that a group of miscreants have brutally raped her. Some pickers supplying waste to the same shop to which the woman was also a supplier, were taken into custody.
