Ramachandraiah, a close aide of Chiranjeevi, made the remark at a meeting of Kapu community members at Dwaraka Tirumala in West Godavari district on Saturday. The meeting was organised by Kapu leaders for inauguration of Sri Krishna Devaraya Kapu Kalyana Mandapam at Dwaraka Tirumala.

Apart from Ramachandraiah, minister for infrastructure and investments Ganta Srinivasa Rao, minister for stamps and registration Thota Narasimham, minister for social welfare Pithani Satyanarayana and minister for tourism Vatti Vasant Kumar, all Kapus, attended the function. Addressing the gathering, Ramachandraiah said Chiranjeevi would soon become the CM as Kapus and people of other communities were eagerly waiting to see him occupy the seat of power in the state. “I had relinquished the Rajya Sabha seat and quit the TD and joined the Praja Rajyam launched only to see him as the CM,’’ Ramachandraiah claimed.
