KADAPA: In a shocking incident, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by two youths on the outskirts of Rayachoti town on Sunday night.
Alerted by the victim’s lover, who was beaten up by the miscreants before abducting her, Rayachoti police traced the girl and the youth within an hour of filing a complaint. The girl was sent to the RIMS hospital for medical tests.
Giving details of the case at Rayachoti police station on Monday, Pulivendula DSP Jayachandrudu said the victim belonging to Jamalapalle village in CK Dinne mandal eloped with her lover Dharma (22), an autodriver from the same village.
Two youths--Praveen, a petty vendor and Ravi, a homeguard-- intercepted the autorickshaw in which they were going to Avulavandlapalle village near Rayachoti, abducted the girl after beating up Dharma.
Dharma rushed to the Rayachoti police station and cops traced the girl and assailants within an hour.
