VISAKHAPATNAM: Interior designers having a field day in the port city with more and more people growing style conscious concerning their homes.
The new trend of having designer interiors is particularly witnessed in MVP Colony, Lawson’s Bay, CBM Compound, Waltair Uplands and a few other areas. Commercial establishments too are giving more importance to interior decoration than before.
Customised designs are created taking into account the shape and size, location and social context of the building. Y Kiran of Jayam Glass Works says interior decoration using glass items is the current trend in Visakhapatnam.
Earlier, only the high income group was showing interest in interior design.
However, with the availability glass interior decor at affordable prices, middle class people too have stepped in. “Good interiors enhance the quality of our life style,” said N Pravalika, a housewife.
