Telangana Ministers hope for good news before December 9

Telangana ministers in chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy’s cabinet appear to have fixed December 9 as their deadline on separate Telangana issue.

They are anticipating a statement from the Centre before that day.

The ministers will chalk out their strategy after December 9, if they fail to get a word on Telangana from the Centre.

With pressure mounting from all corners and TJAC coming out openly against them, the Telangana ministers have been pushed to wall.

“It has become a door- die situation for us,’’ a senior Telangana minister said.

The TJAC from the dais of Telangana March declared that the ministers should take responsibility for obtaining a roadmap on creation of Telangana state from the Centre.

The other Telangana votaries including TRS, BJP, CPI and CPI(ML) have also questioned the commitment of the ministers.

Nalgonda MP Gutta Sukhendar Reddy opined that this is time for the ministers to raise their voices on Telangana in Delhi.

“We have done our best in Delhi and exposed Seemandhra leaders’ selfish motives in creating obstacles to the bifurcation of the state.

The ministers should also play an active role,’’ he said.

Sukhendar felt that it is not possible for them to build continuous pressure on the party high command when the Congress-led UPA government’s existence itself is in trouble.

Deputy chief minister Damodar Rajanarsimha and Panchayat raj minister K Jana Reddy have decided to tackle the situation by continuing discussions with party high command in the coming two months.

They decided to visit Delhi frequently, and if necessary, they wanted to lead delegation of ministers to Delhi.

“The coming two months are very crucial for us.

We have decided to intensify lobbying in Delhi and hope that the Centre would take a decision on the implementation of its December 9 statement given in 2009 on Sonia Gandhi’s birthday,’’ Jana Reddy told Express
