Sharmila walks 16.2 km

Completing her Maro Praja Prasthanam padayatra in Pulivendula mandal, YSR Congress leader Sharmila entered Lingala mandal in Kadapa district on Sunday and walked for 16.2 km on the fourth day of her walkathon.

Till now, she has walked 59.2 km in the district and will have to walk for 15.8 km on Monday, the fifth day, to finish the  schedule of walking for 75 km in the district.

Sharmila toured Chinnarangapuram, Chinna Kudala Cross, Pedda Kudala Cross, Lingala and Lopatnuthala and interacted with  farmers. At Chinnarangapuram, she visited cheeni and banana orchards and cotton fields which have withered away under a dry spell and due to power shortage. A farmer, Ramakrishna Reddy, told her that lack of rains, insufficient power supply and pest attacks hit the crops badly. Though they suffered huge losses, no official from the agriculture department visited the villages, he complained. Sharmila assured them that YSRC would do justice to farmers when it came to power.

Party honorary president YS Vijayalakshmi, another leader Vasireddy Padmavathi and others accompanied Sharmila on her march.
