Andhra treasury staff call off pen-down strike

Government concedes most of the demands

The employees of Andhra Pradesh Treasury Services Association have called off their ‘pen down’ strike with immediate effect after holding detailed discussions with finance minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy here on Tuesday.

The minister met representatives of the APTSA at Secretariat to resolve the on-going strike. The association members also met the principal secretary, finance.

Afterwards, an agreement was reached on various demands that include increase in conveyance allowance payable to treasury employees in March of every year, from `50 to `1,501 per month.

The HRMS package software would be replaced owing to some defects in the software as part of the Comprehensive Financial Management System (CFMS) programme being implemented by the finance department.

The date for submission of monthly accounts to accountant-general would be recommended for modification after receiving revised proposals.

For submission of TDS proforma to income tax department, necessary software training and budgetary support would be provided to the treasury department.

The government assured that it would look into the other demands in consultation with the union and other stakeholders.
