Taking a cue from ministers, ruling Congress MLAs from the Telangana region plan to send a letter to party president Sonia Gandhi about their demand to form a separate state.

"We have prepared a letter to be sent to our party president Sonia Gandhiji and also the members of the core comittee. We plan to send it by fax," Congress MLA Bhikshamaiah Goud told reporters. He also indicated that they also had plans to go to Delhi to meet top leaders on the issue.

Ministers from Andhra Pradesh's Telangana region have already sent a letter to the Congress president and other senior party leaders.

Noting that any proposals like announcement of a special package and constitution of a regional council are not acceptable to the people of the region, the ministers felt that formation of separate state is the best way forward.
