More IOC outlets at prisons

Director-general of prisons and correctional services TP Das has said the department is contemplating setting up more petrol pumps at jails in the state. The petrol pumps will be manned by prisoners.

Speaking after inaugurating an outlet of  the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) at the central jail on Monday, he said the new fuel station was expected to sell 7.5 kilo litre of petrol and diesel a day against the target of 3.5 kilo litre. It is the second outlet in the state after the one at Kadapa jail.A sum of Rs 1 crore was spent on setting up the outlet. It will offer value added services.
