YSRC Samaikya meet on October 28

YSRC chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will be addressing the Samaikya Sankharavam public meeting in support of united Andhra Pradesh at LB Stadium in Hyderabad on Oct 28.

YSRC chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will be addressing the Samaikya Sankharavam public meeting in support of united Andhra Pradesh at LB Stadium in Hyderabad on Oct 28.

The High Court on Wednesday granted permission to YSRC for its public meeting, but the party has changed the date from the original Oct 19 to Oct 28 as there is less time for making preparations and sought permission from the police accordingly. YSRC counsels say the police have to sanction permission for the public meeting on Oct 28 since the court order applies to the public meeting whenever it is held.

Welcoming the development, party senior leader MV Mysoora Reddy said: “The court is protecting our freedom of expression. Shame on the government.”

Jagan Mohan Reddy, after his release form jail, has been confined to his home. Though he was on hunger strike recently, it was at his residence. Earlier, he visited Idupulapaya in his native Kadapa district for one day, but did not address any public meeting owing to court restriction.

Meanwhile, police fear that there might be trouble since Telangana political parties, advocates, students etc are opposing the YSRC meeting at LB Stadium. Police said they have information that some sections are preparing to obstruct the meeting.

This apart, anti-social elements in the guise of Samaikyandhra activists might arrive in large numbers in Hyderbad and indulge in violence.

The permission given by the High Court is subject to adherence to several conditions, the most important one being speakers should desist from making speeches that would incite violence. “The party will abide by the court’s directions,” YSRC sources said. Another condition was that the meeting should be held between 2 pm and 5 pm.
