Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has directed officials concerned to expedite the Floating Storage Regasification Unit project and ensure that it is completed by June 2014.
Ganta Srinivasa Rao, chief secretary Minnie Mathew and other officials at the Secretariat on Tuesday, the Chief Minister directed the officials to see that the Memorandum of Understanding is signed between Kakinada Seaports Limited and Andhra Pradesh Gas Distribution Company (APGDC) within 15 days.
Officials explained to him the status of the project and permissions needed for its early completion. Approval for the formation of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to execute the project and the proposed Memorandum of Understanding are some of the requirements, they said.
