Akbar’s custody extended by 14 days

The judicial custody of MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi was extended by 14 days and his voice recorded by forensic experts on Tuesday.

Nirmal munsif magistrate K Ajesh Kumar issued orders extending Akbar’s remand who was brought to the court from Adilabad district jail.

In accordance with earlier court orders, forensic experts from Chandigarh recorded voice samples of Akbar in the presence of the magistrate. The process took 90 minutes. He was made to read out an Urdu newspaper and asked to make a speech as he would do while addressing the public. He was taken back to the Adilabad jail.

A Nizamabad court rejected Akbar’s bail petition. The court fixed Feb 12 as the date for recording his voice sample.
