Students of SC, ST and BC welfare hostels in Nalgonda district, now onwards, need not depend on the dim light of kerosene lamps during power cuts. Thanks to district collector N Mukteswara Rao’s initiative.

The Non-conventional Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limited (NEDCAP) will soon sanction 6-watt and 12-watt CFL and LED solar lanterns to 192 selected hostels at a cost of  `1,74,096.  The funds were drawn from zilla parishad funds.  The collector came to know of the difficulty during his recent night stay in a some hostels.
