Ban Seemandhra convention: Kavita

Telangana Jagruti president K Kavita on Wednesday urged the state government to cancel the permission given to the convention of Seemandhra leaders in the state capital on Thursday.

She also urged the police to impose Section 144 in the city to disallow any gathering of Seemandhra leaders.

Speaking to reporters, Kavita pointed out that the government had not allowed Telangana student groups to conduct any meeting in the city.

‘Against such a backdrop, how can the government allow Seemandhra leaders to convene a meeting lobby against against creation of Telangana state?’’ she asked.

She said Seemandhra leaders were wilfully organising the meetings in Hyderabad only to provoke the people of Telangana.

She criticised ministers from Telangana for becoming mute spectators to the manoeuvres of Seemandhra leaders.

She said TDP and YSRCP leaders in particular were “playing games’’ on the issue and challenged them to spell out their real stance.

Kavita said Telangana Jagruti decided to organise a Maha Dharna at Indira Park in the city on January 25.

“If the Centre takes any decision aginst the interest of Telangana, we intensify the Telangana movement,’’ she said.
