If the Congress- led UPA government does not grant Telangana state now, people will take it by force in 2014, TRS leader and MLA T Harish Rao has said. He was speaking at a programme organised by Telangana electricity employees here on Friday.
In the backdrop of Congress Chintan Shivir in Jaipur, the Telangana Joint Action Committee is organising protest programmes in the state capital.
As a part of it, the Telangana Electricity Employees (TEEJAC) held a Smruthi Deeksha at Mint compound here on Friday, which was attended by a large number of employees and activists. Members of Telangana martyrs’ families also took part in the programme.
Participants at the deeksha camp took the pledge to continue the movement till statehood is achieved. While addressing the camp, Harish Rao said creation of the Telangana state was inevitable.
Seemandhara leaders should respect the long-pending democratic wish of the people of Telangana. He criticised minister Ganta Srinivas Rao for backing Samaikyandhra.
