Flight services to Chennai and Bangalore from Rajahmundry were stopped from Sunday causing severe inconvenience to air travellers. SpiceJet which operated flights to Chennai and Bangalore from August 2012, stopped its services citing less occupancy ratio.

There were daily flights to the two cities up to November 10, 2012. Later, the operation of flight services was reduced to thrice a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday). But there is no change in the operation of flight services from Hyderabad to Rajahmundry. SpiceJet and Jet Airways will continue to operate flights to Rajahmundry from Hyderabad, airport officials said.
