Drunk constable caught on Tirumala

A police constable was caught in an inebriated condition while he was on duty on the hills of Tirumala on Friday.

Police recovered a liquor bottle from the constable. Officials said that the constable, Mohan, attached to the II Town police of Tirumala, had been caught before on a couple of occasions in the hill shrine in a drunk state. Though he was caught and warned, he did not heed to the warnings, officials said. According to officials, Mohan crossed the checkpost at Alipiri and after walking some distance, he reportedly boarded a four-wheeler and got down at the GNC checkpost in Tirumala.

Officials noticed him walking in an inebriated condition and caught him. The matter was reported to higher officials the police were requested to register a case against the constable. Mohan is likely to be suspended.
