A two-day-old baby girl was stolen on Monday night from the Government Maternity Hospital here. Both the hospital authorities and the police remained clueless about the incident as there were no surveillance cameras installed in any part of the hospital.
As the infant was suffering from some ailment, it was taken to a nearby children’s hospital of SVR Ruia hospital for examination and was brought back to the maternity hospital.
Late Monday night, when Kamala and her baby were fast asleep, an unidentified woman came to the ward and took away the baby.
‘’Some people in the ward though noticed the woman taking away the baby, did not question her as they thought she was a relative of Kamala,’’ hospital authorities said.
When Kamala woke up, to her shock found her baby missing and alerted the hospital authorities.
As there was no action from the hospital authorities, the parents along with political party leaders staged a dharna on the hospital premises.
