Kondaveedi Fort development committee convener K Sivareddy has urged Guntur Urban superintendent of police BV Ramana Kumar to take stringent action against the miscreants who resort to digging on the  Kondaveedu fort premises to unearth hidden treasures.

Sivareddy Saturday met the Urban SP and submitted a representation on the activities of the anti-social elements, who are indiscriminately digging on the fort premises for hidden treasures. He expressed apprehensions that the valuables and historical monuments would be destroyed if the miscreants did not stop right away.

He presented a 35-minute English documentary on the Kondaveedu fort and a booklet on the subject. Sivareddy requested the SP to visit the Vennamudda Krishna temple near the fort and explained that the first phase works of the Kondaveedu fort is going on and the second will commence soon. The SP promised Sivareddy that he would inspect the fort and visit the temple soon.
