A woman was injured after she fell down while trying to board the Chennai-Howrah express train at Gudur railway station.

The incident, however, sparked off rumours that miscreants snatched the woman’s ornaments and pushed her out of a moving train.

The 40-year-old woman, A Bhavani, a native of Tuni in Visakhapatnam district, was found in an injured condition near the platform. She was shifted to a nearby hospital on Thursday. According to the railway police, she was staying in the Gudur railway station from the past three days.

After gaining consciousness, she told the police that she had an accidental fall and put to rest all rumours.
