Panel to select V-C for NTRUHS

The state government has formed a committee to select vice-chancellor of Dr NTR University of Health Science on Tuesday, as the term of the present incumbent IV Rao will end on August 20.

The search committee comprises Dr Srinath Reddy from Medical Health Foundation of India, Dr CS Bhaskaran, former vice-chancellor of DR NTR University of Health Sciences and principal health secretary (HM&FW department) who will also be convener of the search committee.

It has been entrusted with the task of suggesting a panel of names for appointment of the new vice-chancellor for the university.

It will do so in alphabetical order and the panel of names shall not be less than three and not more than five.

The entire process has to be completed within a period of two months.  The incumbent vice-chancellor IV Rao, who joined the varsity on August 20, 2010 will be demitting his office next month.
