The water table at Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage in Dowleswaram reached 17.02 ft Thursday, crossing which the irrigation officials would issue a third flood warning signal. The inflows into the Godavari river increased even as 18.50 lakh cusecs of water is being discharged into the sea.
Meanwhile, the people in 14 mandals of Konaseema and Devipatnam mandals of East Godavari district were gripped by fear of flash floods.
The villagers in Konaseema area were expressing concern over their future since the flood water was breaching the bunds in some places.
