TDP MLA tries to attack policeman with footwear

A TDP legislator created a flutter by trying to attack a sub-inspector belonging to the Beluguppa police station on Wednesday night. The situation turned tense when the SI reportedly whipped out his service revolver.

According to reports, P Keshav went to the police station after the local SI, Sri Ram, nabbed four TDP workers for possession of liquor.

Alleging that the police were harassing the party cadre, Keshav went to the police station and picked up an argument with the SI. As tempers ran high, Keshav allegedly tried to attack the SI with his slipper.

Senior officials reached the spot and pulled up the SI and reportedly warned him. The SI, however, insisted that he had to take out the revolver as the situation had started to worsen.

Keshav, on the other hand, denied attacking the SI but as the constables stood by the SI’s version, the TDP MLA had to retract his statements.

The senior policemen brought the situation under control and no case has been registered.
