Forest officials on Sunday nabbed three smugglers and seized 1.5 tonne of red sander, along with three vehicles on Sunday.
According to forest officials, acting on credible information about the transportation of the precious logs, the officials kept a strict vigil on the Karakambadi- Renigunta road and also in the forest fringe villages in Chandragiri mandal, and arrested the smugglers.
One of the three accused had links with Ramanathan, a notorious smuggler from Chennai.
