Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy released a ‘Budget handbook’ authored by principal secretary (Finance) Pushpa Subramanyam, at his camp office here on Monday. Complimenting her, Kiran Reddy said the book will benefit the budget department staff.
Pushpa said the book explains the roles and responsibilities of different stakeholders, standard templates for various steps in the budget process besides procedures and timelines to be followed for processing budget estimates in the finance department.
She said the book incorporates procedures and templates for the interface with the office of the governor and the Legislature in the introduction of the demands for grants and passing of the Appropriation Bill. The handbook is necessitated to serve as a brief of the budget manual, she said.
Finance minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, chief secretary PK Mohanty, APERC chairman V Bhaskar, special chief secretary SP Tucker, principal secretary (finance) D Sambasiva Rao, secretary (Finance) L Premachandra Reddy and other officials were present.
