BJYM refutes Congress charge against Venkaiah

Taking exception to few Telangana leaders targeting senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu on the Telangana issue, BJYM state president S Vishnuvardhan Reddy has accused Congress and a few other Telangana leaders of targeting BJP leaders as a part of the conspiracy to marginalise BJP in the region.

Responding to the allegation made by senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao, TJAC spokesperson A Dayakar and Telangana poet Ande Sree at the “Alai Balai” get-together organised by BJP leader Bandaru Dattatraya here on Tuesday, that Venkaiah Naidu was trying to stall the process of state bifurcation, the BJYM state president said BJP is in favour of state bifurcation and it will not change its stand.

Rubbishing the allegation, he said the people who are accusing the senior leader should not forget that it was Venkaiah Naidu who had taken the issue to the national level and got it included in BJP agenda.

The Congress with the help of TJAC leaders was targeting Venkaiah Naidu so that it can marginalise BJP in the region, he alleged.

“Just because Venkaiah belongs to a coastal district it does not mean that he is trying to stall the process of state bifurcation. He is asking the government to do justice to the people of Seemandhra region and provide good package so that they can develop the state. Making such an appeal does not mean that he was deviating from the party line and working against the bifurcation,” he remarked.

He said leaders from Congress and other parties are making a hue and cry over Venkaiah Naidu meeting TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu. He met Chandrababu to discuss about state bifurcation and not to stall it, he said.

“If anyone who is trying to stall the process of state bifurcation it is chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. Instead of stopping him, the Congress leaders are targeting Venkaiah Naidu and defaming the BJP which has always stood for Telangana statehood,” he said.
