Three washed away in stream

Three persons were washed away in overflowing streams in two separate incidents in the district Sunday.

Three persons were washed away in overflowing streams in two separate incidents in the district Sunday. According to sources, two persons were washed away in Eddu vaagu in Munagodu village of Amaravati mandal in Guntur district Sunday.

According to Amaravati police, two cattle grazers Sk Jaleel (20), and Bommireddy Somamma (50), were washed away in the gushing Eddu vaagu waters while crossing it. They took their cattle for grazing and unfortunately got washed away while returning. One buffalo was also washed away. Amaravati police registered a case and are investigating.

In another incident, one P Rambabu, of Balijepalli village of Rajupalem mandal of the district was washed away in the flood waters of Eddu vaagu Saturday night. The mishap occurred while he was crossing the bridge over the vaagu. Eddu vaagu was in spate due to heavy rain in parts of Guntur district.
