BJP general secretary Rajiv Pratap Rudy attacked the Nitish Kumar government over its failure to avert Sunday’s serial blasts in Patna and alleged that it was a complete failure of the state government and its machinery, rather a criminal neglect of the situation on their part, despite the apprehensions earlier expressed by the party.
Six people were killed and over 80 injured on Sunday in a string of explosions that took place at Patna railway station and Gandhi Maidan, shortly before BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi spoke at a rally.
Addressing a press conference to highlight Patna’s serial blasts across the country here on Tuesday, Rudy alleged that though the Intelligence Bureau alerted Bihar government on October 23 about a likely blast in Modi’s rally the state government ignored it and did not took adequate measures to avert the blasts. “When a person like Modi, who has the highest threat from terror organisations, is addressing a rally, more precaution had to be taken. But the Bihar government failed in its duty,” he alleged.
