SPV Set Up for Metro Rail Projects in AP

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh government on Wednesday constituted Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV) for Metro Rail/MRTS (Mass Rapid Transit System) projects in Vijayawada, Guntur, Tenali and Mangalagiri Urban Development Authority area and Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation area.

The AP Cabinet on August 1 had approved Metro rail projects for Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada-Guntur-Tenali-Mangalagiri regions.

The state government issued a GO in this regard. The SPV was set up with a board of directors , headed by a non-executive chairman and project director as MD of Metro Rail Project of Vijayawada.

GO principal secretary municipal administration and urban development would be non-executive chairman, whereas principal secretary  finance (W&P), principal secretary transport, roads & buildings, principal secretary, infrastructure & investment, vice-chairman, Vijayawada, Guntur, Tenali and Mangalagiri Urban Development Authority, Vijayawada, Commissioner of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, district collectors of Guntur and Krishna will be directors of SPV.
