ONGOLE: Five youths were injured in a fire accident at a cracker manufacturing unit in Tanguturu of Prakasam district Sunday. The injured were rushed to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Ongole and are undergoing treatment.
According to sources, the condition of three of the injured - Rajesh, Jeevaratnam, Lovaraju - is said to be critical. Rajesh sustained 90 per cent burns during the mishap. All the injured were natives of Rajahmundry and working in the unit for the past seven months. The fire accident occurred at around 12.30 pm while the youngsters were making rocket bombs. The police registered a case and took up investigation. They are yet to ascertain the reason for the fire.
