Mayor Conspiring to Stall JNNURM Houses: Cong Leader

City Congress leaders Adapa Siva Nagendram and Meesala Rajeswara Rao have lashed out at the TDP government for cancelling GO No. 6 which was issued by the Congress government to provide houses and basic facilities at Budameru area in the city.

VIJAYAWADA: City Congress leaders Adapa Siva Nagendram and Meesala Rajeswara Rao have lashed out at the TDP government for cancelling GO No. 6 which was issued by the Congress government to provide houses and basic facilities at Budameru area in the city.

Speaking to reporters here Friday, Siva Nagendram claimed that irrigation minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, during a press conference last month, promised that he would do justice to the residents of Budameru. However, “There was no response till now,” he added.

He also said that chief minister Naidu had cheated the farmers on loan waiver scheme and disclosed that a demonstration would be staged in front of the Sub-collector’s Office in the city on August 4 to protest against the injustice done to farmers and DWCRA women. APCC president Raghuveera Reddy and senior leader of the party Botcha Sathyanarayana would lead the agitation

in which 200 party workers would take part.

Meesala Rajeswara Rao lauded the efforts of the Congress government in building side drain canals in many parts of the city. He alleged that mayor Koneru Sridhar’s was planning to stop construction of 9,990 houses under the JNNURM scheme. He said that the TDP government was making confusing   statements on the state Capital.
