GUNTUR: An engineering student was knocked down by a tipper at Putturu village on the city outskirts Thursday.
The police said the deceased Mannava Naveen (19) was a second year student at RVR and JC College. While he was going to college on the bike, a tipper hit his bike from behind.
He died while being treated at a private hospital. A large number of engineering students reached the hospital.
Meanwhile, another engineering student K Saicharan (20) committed suicide by falling under a running train at Shiva Sanjeevani Colony in Narasaraopet town of the district Thursday.
He was studying engineering Final Year at Tirumala Engineering College. The reason for the extreme step is yet to be ascertained, police said.
