Mother Survives Suicide Pact

VIJAYAWADA : In a suicide pact, a 35-year-old man, along with his two sons and mother, jumped into the cooling canal of the Narla Tata Rao Thermal Power Station at Ibrahimpatnam here Thursday.

According to police, a lorry driver, Hanuman Prasad went to the NTTPS with his family Thursday and all of them jumped into it. Passers by rescued Hanuman Prasad’s mother and informed the police about the incident.

Ibrahimpatnam police, along with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team, rushed to the spot and launched a search for the bodies. The search was going on till last reports last came.  “We are yet to find the bodies of Hanuman Prasad and his sons. Hanuman Prasad’s mother was sent to government general hospital. Her condition is stable,” Ibrahimpatnam CI Ch Rambabu said.
