ELURU: In view of the increasing crime rate in and around Bhimavaram, West Godavari district superintendent of police K Raghurami Reddy has constituted a special team to combat the problem.
The team comprises inspectors RG Jaya Surya of Two Town Police Station, G Kennedy of One Town Police Station and Ch Rama Rao of the Central Crime Station.The team arrested several gangs of theives and robbers in Bhimavaram town and recovered an amount of around `4.47 lakh from them.
Besides, the also team nabbed one P Venkata Narayana of Gunupudi on August 24 at Taderu bridge and recovered `1.35 lakh worth of gold ornaments and 2 kg silver. The accused committed the thefts in Bhimavaram town.
