VIJAYAWADA: The NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) on Tuesday released notification for counselling of MBBS/BDS seats for the academic year 2014-15. The first phase of counselling would be held from August 30 to September 5. While open competition seats would be filled up on the first three days, the counselling for reserved category seats would be held from September 2 to 5.
In Telangana, the counselling would be held in Hyderabad and Warangal while in Andhra Pradesh, it will be held at Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati. Candidates are free to select a centre of their choice. The counselling for special categories like Sports and Games, NCC, Children of Armed Forces Personnel, Physically Challenged, Police Martyrs Children would be held on September 7 and 8 at NTRUHS in Vijayawada only.
It has been nearly three months since EAMCET results were announced and MCI has set up September 1 as deadline for the commencement of classes for undergraduate medical courses.
With notification being released, a senior official from the NTRUHS said that the university will try to begin classes from September 1 with the students who have been admitted through counselling on August 30 and 31 to avoid coming under fire from MCI.
