GUNTUR: The scaffolding of a multiplex under construction collapsed at Chandramouli Nagar in Guntur city Wednesday when about fifteen workers were on the site. Fortunately, no one was injured in the mishap.
“We had laid the scaffolding for slab with all necessary precautions but it came down suddenly. The reason might be that some rods were of substandard quality,” said A Siva Reddy, the builder.
Though no one was hurt in the incident, it brought into light the decreasing standards and facilities in commercial establishments in the city. When contacted, Guntur Municipal Corporation officials did not respond to the issue.
