VISAKHAPATNAM: The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has released guidelines to select the best division and best zone in the ongoing month-long sanitation drive.
According to municipal commissioner MV Satyanarayana, the best division and zone award would be selected by assessing 12 parametres like collection of dry and wet debris, mosquito control operations, control of fevers, ensuring 100 per cent sanitation, strict implementation of plastic norms, stray dogs and swine control, removal of debris, jungle clearances, street light maintenance, plantation, involvement of SHGs and desiltation of drains.
The division which score the highest on a total of 150 marks would be adjudged best division and zone, he said.
The performance would be assessed by the commissioner during his morning visits. He visited several divisions in Zone 3, 4 and 5 and took note of the implementation of the drive. According to an official release from the GVMC, the commissioner expressed his satisfaction on the implementation of sanitation drive in the city.
