Andhra to Denotify 17,000 Acres of Forest Land in West Godavari District

ELURU: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has reiterated that the state government is committed to the development of the Kapu community and inclusion of the Kapu community in the Backward Classes list for which the process has already begun. He has said that  that the government will allot `100 crore for the development of the Kapu community.  The government has already taken the initiative to set up the Kapu Corporation on the lines of SC/ST/BC corporations.

The chief minister made the announcement at a public meeting at Timmapuram village in Dwaraka Tirumala here Thursday.

Addressing the gathering, he promised to develop Dwaraka Tirumala into a health hub and also attract investments in the industrial sector for development of the region. “To facilitate rapid industrialisation, the government would denotify 17,000 acre of forest land near Dwaraka Tirumala,” he added. A Skill Development Centre will be established in the area to impart training to youth besides setting up a junior college each at Gopalapuram and Jagannadhapuram. The chief minister promised to develop Yarnagudem roads in Gopalapuram constituency as per the request of MLA Venkateswara Rao. He said that the Nityannadanam scheme would be continued in Dwaraka Tirumala as well.

Showering sops on the district,  Naidu said that the government would set up an aqua university in Bhimavaram where industrialist Viswanadha Raju has come forward to donate 150 acre of his land for the university. “The first phase of the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme will be inaugurated on September 14. Water will be diverted to the Polavaram right main canal to meet the needs of Krishna Delta and Rayalaseema,” he said.
