ONGOLE: Collector GSRKR Vijayakumar said measures are on for having one lakh acres of land bank to meet the industrial and other needs.
Addressing a review meeting with revenue officials here Tuesday, he said 50,000 acres of land has been identified for Donakonda Industrial Corridor, 20,000 acres for industries in Pamuru, 10,000 acres in CS Puram. He said another 40,000 acres of land is being identified in Kandukur, Markapur and Ongole for industrial needs. He said 6,000 acres have been identified for port construction in Ramayapatnam. The collector said Ramayapatnam port would be taken up in PPP mode.
APIIC chairman P Krishnaiah said the land for the land bank should be identified village-wise along with survey numbers. He said since the government had decided to set aside 10 lakh acres for industrial purpose, large chunks of land should be acquired in Rayalaseema districts and in Nellore and Prakasam.
Krishnaiah said in the past, government lands of 100 acres and above were only identified, but now even those of 10 acres and above should be identified and readied for land acquisition. He advised the officials to mark and geo tag those lands using google maps, so it will be easy for allocation when proposals for industries come up.
