Team to Verify Antecedents of Smugglers

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh police have identified one person who was killed among 19 others for committing repeated offences of smuggling red sanders.

Director Gneral of Police (DGP)  J V Ramudu said that one of the deceased who was killed in an encounter was G Rajendran, Javvagimalai village, Melekupsunvur, Polur taluk of Thiruvannamalai.

“On May 20, 2013, Rajendran and 13 others were arrested at Thumbur Theertham locality of Renigunta urban police limits while smuggling red sanders. Police also seized some logs at the time of arrest. The antecedents of other deceased are being verified by forming special teams. The teams will visit Thiruvannamalai, Dhramapuri and Selam districts for verification of deceased persons,” Ramudu said.
