AP CM Flies to China to Seek Investments

HYDERABAD: Fresh from his recent visit to Singapore, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would be making a high-level pitch for investments in the State during his six-day tour of China beginning April 12.

Naidu, who is leading a 34-member delegation to the Communist nation, left for Beijing early Sunday. During his visit, Naidu would be addressing industrialists, investors and businessmen at round-table meetings in Beijing, Chengdu and Shanghai.

For this purpose, the Chief Minister and his colleagues are carrying a documentary, showcasing business opportunities in the reorganised State which has a long coastline of 974 kilometres.

The documentary has been produced in the Chinese language. Special brochures and leaflets have also been printed in Chinese to convey to the investors in China the opportunities in AP.

With AP planning electronic clusters as part of its Electronics and Manufacturing Policy, Xioami and Foxconn would be sounded to set up facilities in the State. Naidu would also tour Huawei’s R&D centre and have a first-hand experience of the facility. Naidu would be looking for investments mostly in the energy sector and manufacturing.

Naidu will also have a meeting with “Go Global” pioneer SUMEC Group, which has presence in technology, renewable energy (solar projects), garment-making, R&D, manufacturing, and financial sectors. Besides, Naidu will also interact with top executives of Huawei R&D Centre, Siemens and Sinoma International Engineering Company Limited.

Apart from interacting with industrial bodies in China such as International Department of the CPC Central Committee, China National Textile and Apparel Council and China Association for Small and Medium Enterprises, Naidu will visit Chengdu where he would tour the Peking University and later, visit Shanghai’s Yangshan Deep Water Port, considered amongst the world’s busiest trading ports.

Yangshan Deep Water Port handles a staggering 32 million containers a year, carrying 736 million tonnes of goods around the globe. Naidu will also meet the mayors of Beijing, Chengdu and Shanghai.

The delegation includes ministers Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, P Narayana and K Achhanaidu, AP special representative in Delhi K Ramamohan Rao, State Communications Advisor Parakala Prabhakar, principal secretary to CM Satish Chandra, secretaries PV Ramesh, SS Rawat, Ajay Jain and director of Industries Karthikeya Mishra and OSD to CM Ch Venkaiah Chowdary.
