Rally Marks Telugu Theatre Day Fete

NARASARAOPET: Telugu Natakaranga Dinotsavam marking the birth anniversary of Kandukuri Veeresalingam Pantulu, poet, writer and social reformer, was celebrated at Narasaraopet in the on Thursday.  The event started on a colourful note with around 500 artistes from different parts of the state taking out a procession from Kota to Bhuvanachandra Auditorium (Town Hall) passing through main thoroughfares of the town.

Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao flagged off the rally during which various artistes performed art forms like ‘tappeta gullu’, ‘tolubommalata’, ‘kolatam’, ‘Puliveshams’, ‘garagallu’ and others. People gathered on either side of the road to cheer and encourage artistes.  Later, awards were presented to theatre personalities for their contribution at state and district levels.
