Sea Planes, Cruise Liners to Boost Tourism

VISAKHAPATNAM : In order to strengthen Visakhapatnam on the tourism front, the government has decided to develop and promote new tourist attractions including sea planes, cruise ships and water sports, said HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao.

Plans are also afoot to develop health tourism in the city and agency areas as well. Hospitals of various specialities and hotels would be set up in one place. The government is also keen to set up a hospitality university.

The minister held a review meeting Friday on upcoming tourism projects in the district. Principal secretary to Tourism Ministry NK Prasad, collector N Yuvaraj, GVMC commissioner Pravin Kumar, VUDA chief T Babu Rao Naidu and ITDA- Paderu project officer Harinarayan participated in it.

Later, addressing the media, Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that a botanical garden in an extent of 500 acres at Lambasingi and Kothapalli Waterfalls would be developed as tribal tourism attraction.
